WORRY NO MORE

The first worry aboard any yacht has been the traditional shortage in the storage of fresh water. Iroula has been built with a huge 800lt fresh water tank which will allow for a few days of normal consumption before re-filling. This tank has been built in the centre of the yacht to preserve stability from empty to full.

The second worry of any yachtsman is usually the electrical power consumption. The more appliances requiring electricity on a yacht, the worse it gets.

Apart from a shore power charger and 4 Gel batteries (130Ah each) for “house” consumption (out of a total of 8 batteries), Iroula is equipped with a Fischer Panda 15000i 230V AC generator.
However, the yacht has also been equipped with two arrays of Solar panels capable of 150W each, during daylight. So, the use of the generator and the associated diesel consumption, pollution and noise disturbance are minimised. This also helps to maintain a much desirable eco-friendly carbon footprint.

The yacht has been laid out with four double guest cabins, each with its own en-suite toilet and shower and two forepeak cabins for crew use.

A wall wardrobe and a drawer under the double bed provide the storage area required for clothes in each guest cabin, which is also equipped with its private heating/air-conditioning unit, 220V, USB and 12V cigar lighter type of sockets. An electric fan is also installed as an alternative for people who do not enjoy air-conditioning during their sleep.

The bed matrices and the pillows are protected by sanitary covers under the bottom sheet of each bed and the pillowcases respectively. Good quality bed linen and 3 towels for each person, complete the setting of a very comfortable cabin environment.

The galley is placed towards the front of the yacht and it is equipped with a gas oven and three gas hob burners. The refrigerator is a big “normal house” type of refrigerator with a deep-freeze compartment at the bottom. There is ample cupboard and drawer storage space for both the yacht’s extensive set of cooking utensils and each client’s food, drink and liquor supplies.

There is cutlery for 10 people, plates, coffee mugs and various types of glasses which have been imported from Australia (see palmoutdoor.com.au) on their outdoors and eco-friendly merits.

There are three outdoors areas on the yacht.

One recreation area is located at the stern behind the saloon where a big settee can be found under a canopy. Masks, snorkels and sea toys are stored in the large locker under the settee. A gas operated BBQ grill is located at its side for cooking next to the sea!

A huge sun-bathing  area featuring a settee, two tables and quite a few beds with cushions is located at front of the yacht. A special sun-awning can be set above it and thus protect the area from the sun rays and redefine its use.

Finally at the upper deck area where the fly bridge is located, a huge sun bed provides more space for relaxation and enjoyment either while cruising or while moored.

The fly bridge is equipped with an Axiom GPS plotter, an i70 Multifunction display, the p70 Autopilot panel, a VHF loudspeaker, a wireless VHF repeater and its charging station and the two engine control levers. The two winches handling the sailing ropes are positioned nearby and the main one is electric.

Iroula has been built with two Yanmar 40Hp each saildrives, which operate two unique Autoprop feathering propellers (see bruntonspropellers.com/autoprop). Autoprop lowers diesel consumption, increases the cruising speed, enhances the stopping power in reverse and enhances the yacht’s ability to cross the waves while under both engine and sail. Two heavy duty rope cutters protect the saildrives and the propellers from ropes, fishing lines and general debris that can be found astray in sea water.

The yacht is being serviced strictly by authorised service centres of the respective brands of its equipment (Yanmar, Raymarine, Fischer Panda, Dometic, Elvstrom, etc).
